The Chimney Expert recently completed a full chimney restoration project in Fox Point, Wisconsin, for local homeowner Molly G. With over 20 years of experience serving the Milwaukee area, our team of professional chimney repair specialists was brought in to address significant masonry issues affecting both
chimneys on the property.
The project began with the installation of rooftop scaffolding and 40 feet of deck-level scaffolding to ensure safe, full access to both chimney structures. We then ground out all deteriorated mortar joints to a depth of one-quarter inch and tuckpointed them with new mortar, carefully matched for consistency and durability. All damaged bricks were removed and replaced to restore structural integrity.
A key part of this Fox Point chimney restoration involved removing the top 18 rows of bricks on the southeast corner of the first chimney. That section was rebuilt using new bricks selected to match the existing façade as closely as possible. In addition, the project included the removal of old gas log sets and the installation of new wood fire gas assist lines to the firebox.
